Our core music program is the Chancel Choir, whose 30 members are key leaders at each week’s worship. The choir is also open to high school students with an interest in choral singing. (Listen to our choir here!)
The Chancel Choir presents an anthem each Sunday and leads the congregation in singing hymns. The choir also prepares two major works each year: one for the Candlelight Carol Service in Advent, and one in the Spring at some point after Easter.
We meet during the school year on Thursdays from 8:00pm-9:30pm and on Sundays from 9:30am-10:15am.
We also welcome singers whose schedules do not permit a weekly commitment. On a monthly basis, the Chancel Choir invites its extended membership to join in an anthem that can be learned on the morning of the Sunday service, without the requirement of Thursday attendance. These opportunities are broadcast via email.
Singers who can make a short-term commitment to Thursday rehearsals and would like to participate in the performance of a major work can join the Chancel Choir for a period of several weeks leading up to the work’s presentation. Generally speaking, this requires attending Thursday rehearsals only from 8:00pm-8:45pm.
Singers interested in any of the above opportunities should contact Dr. Holland Jancaitis, Director of Music Ministries.
