Take the Pledge – Eat less Meat

Take the Pledge!

Climate scientists are ringing the alarm that “planet earth is facing a climate catastrophe.” These dire reports can make us feel hopeless and doomed, or they can spur us to action.

The Morrow Green Team is launching an initiative to suggest simple but high-impact actions each of us can take to reduce our negative impact on God’s Creation.

Eating less meat is also better for your health. In North America, we eat on average almost six and a half times as much meat as nutrition science recommends. According to research compiled by a team of 37 scientists and published in the highly esteemed peer-review journal The Lancet, moving towards a more sustainable food systems and a mostly unprocessed plant-based diet “would safeguard our planet and improve the health of billions.”

And because a food system based on mostly plant and only modest amounts of meat and dairy requires significantly less resources, it is also a more economically efficient. So, eating less meat is a win-win-win proposition.
