Rev. Janice Sutton Lynn comes to Morrow from the United Methodist Church in Sparta, NJ and brings a wealth of energy and experience to the church and worship space. Rev. Lynn has a passion for Contemplative Worship (meditation and silence), reading the Bible through a progressive lens, and leading God’s people to realize their very best selves in relationship to God and others. She has been leading in churches since 2001.
A graduate of Drew Theological School and a second career pastor, Rev. Lynn has a vested interest in peace including a focus in recovery ministries, interfaith relationships, process and liberation theologies, and the early church prior to the rise of orthodoxy and colonization.
She is committed to expanding spaces for contemplative worship and Christian meditation, "The noise of our times is demanding we turn inward to find God. In our silence, we can access the Spirit that is alive and speaking to us all. We are then enlivened to do God’s work of love for all."
Rev. Lynn has served in Wantage, Highland Park, and Sparta after working for twenty years in advertising for the (Plainfield) Courier News in Bridgewater and the New York Times in NYC and Dallas. Educated "primarily on the streets", Janice received a BA from the New School for Social Research prior to entering seminary. She has brought healing, new life, and growth to each of the churches she has served.
